KidScape English Lit Curriculum / Writing Component

Each game meets the Nevada's English Literacy Standards.

KidScape Theater Curriculum / Readers Theater

Students will work on oral language by reading parts of a readers theater play.

KidScape Productions / Improvisational Curriculum

Impromptu Acting Environment with a focus on repetition to instill strong verbal and physical presentation skills.

Student of the Month

Salutations! My name is Tala and I have been going to KidScape Productions for almost three years now. When I first joined I was not very good at improvisation. but I thought I rocked and rolled at everything else… boy was I wrong! KidScape has taught me very technical things like:

• Neutral position
• Slow down when I am speaking
• Diction
• The great and almighty Fourth Wall
• Don't fidget while standing in neutral position

And much, much (and I mean very much) more. But besides all of the technical stuff, which I do use on a daily basis with school presentations and talking to people like ya'll, KidScape Productions has taught me to be confident not only when I'm on stage but in life too. This is probably the second best skill I have learned because sometimes I'm not very confident, but going to KidScape and improving my skills is probably one of the best confidence boosters I could ever get. Kidscape has also taught me the value of passion. Before I joined Kidscape I just acted because it was fun and something I really liked to do, but coming to class every week for almost three years has taught me that I am very passionate about acting and that it is what I want to do for the rest of my life. When I took my very first improv class the summer of my freshman year Ms. Chris asked us all what we wanted to do when we grew up. Now right away I said I wanted to be on Broadway… but that was just a silly notion… it was honestly the first cool job that just happen to pop in my head at the time. Yet ever since that first class that silly little notion has grown into my dream, my passion. I'm graduating this year and have plans of going to New York to fulfill my dream and boy am I scared, but with the confidence that KidScape Productions has taught me I am ready to take on the world. Without KidScape I may have never found my passion and that's how it affects my every day life!!
